About Bruce
CPA. Author. Yoga Instructor. Longevity Coach. And living his best life on the water in Merritt Island, Florida.
"I am blessed with health, family, and purpose — and I would love to help you build the same."
— Bruce Van Horn
The Story
Bruce Van Horn has spent his career working on both sides of the longevity equation — as a CPA helping people build financial security, and as a yoga instructor helping them build physical strength. Bringing the two together wasn't a pivot. It was inevitable.
The journey started with a diagnosis. In his 20s, while working at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Bruce was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis — a chronic inflammatory condition that would challenge him for nearly 35 years. Rather than accept it as a ceiling, he treated it as a starting gun. He overhauled his diet, took up yoga, and committed to strengthening his immune system from the inside out.
The lifestyle changes brought years of remission. But the long-term use of steroids to control inflammation lowered his bone density — a reminder that every health decision has downstream consequences, and that the body keeps score.
In 2002, Bruce published Yoga for Men and launched a yoga career that spanned nearly two decades. Then COVID arrived and took his yoga business with it. He relocated to Merritt Island, Florida on July 1, 2020 and pivoted back to accounting — restarting Bruce Van Horn CPA, focused on Space Coast startups and professionals. He still teaches four combined Yoga and Dance classes each month at area Memory Care facilities, work he describes as one of the greatest joys of his life.
On July 1, 2020, Bruce permanently relocated to Merritt Island, Florida. A new medication, combined with decades of disciplined lifestyle choices, finally put his UC into full remission. Today his daily practice — 30 minutes of yoga, 20 minutes of swimming, 20 minutes of weight training, and 20 minutes of sauna — is the foundation of a life he describes as truly blessed.

Long before yoga became mainstream, Bruce was teaching men that flexibility, breath, and mindful movement were not just for athletes or the already-fit — they were for anyone willing to show up. His book Yoga for Men brought that message to a wide audience and launched a career that continues to this day.
The handstand is not a party trick. It is a statement: that with consistent practice, the body can do things at 60 that most people stop believing are possible at 40.
The Journey
Bruce launched his career at PwC, one of the world's premier accounting firms. The work was demanding — long hours, high pressure, and the kind of stress that takes a quiet toll on the body.
In his 20s, Bruce was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis — a chronic inflammatory bowel disease that would challenge him for nearly 35 years. Rather than accept decline, he turned the diagnosis into a catalyst.
Determined to strengthen his immune system and reduce inflammation naturally, Bruce overhauled his diet and took up yoga. The changes brought years of remission — and a lifelong passion for movement as medicine.
Bruce channeled his years of practice and teaching into a published book — Yoga for Men — helping a generation of men discover that yoga was not just for flexibility, but for strength, recovery, and longevity.
Bruce built a thriving yoga career spanning nearly two decades — teaching, writing, and helping people discover movement as medicine. He continues to teach four combined Yoga and Dance classes each month at area Memory Care facilities, work that brings him deep joy.
COVID ended Bruce's yoga business overnight. He permanently relocated to Merritt Island, Florida and pivoted back to his CPA roots — restarting Bruce Van Horn CPA, focused on Space Coast startups and professionals. A new medication, combined with his disciplined lifestyle, finally put his UC into full remission.
Bruce's daily practice: 30 minutes of yoga, 20 minutes of swimming, 20 minutes of weight training, and 20 minutes of sauna. Blessed with family, grandchildren, great friends, financial security, and vibrant health — he now dedicates himself to helping others build the same.

Core Beliefs
Yoga, swimming, and strength training are not hobbies — they are the foundation of everything. Bruce's daily 90-minute practice is proof that consistent movement transforms the body at any age.
Twenty minutes of sauna every day. Sleep as a non-negotiable. Rest as a discipline. Bruce treats recovery with the same rigor as training — because that's where the real adaptation happens.
A UC diagnosis at 25 could have defined Bruce's limits. Instead, it defined his resolve. The people who thrive longest are mentally resilient, purposeful, and refuse to accept decline as inevitable.
Financial stress ages you. As a CPA for decades, Bruce knows that a clear retirement plan, smart tax strategy, and genuine financial security are as important to longevity as any workout.
Personal Mission
Bruce spent 35 years navigating a chronic illness while building two careers, raising a family, and refusing to let any of it define his limits. He is not selling a program. He is sharing a life — and inviting you to build one just as full.
He works with people who are ready to stop coasting and start building — the kind of second half of life that feels earned, vibrant, and fully alive.
